Sound-based moves are a category of moves in the Pokémon series that involve sound, voice, or music. They interact with abilities such as Soundproof, which grants immunity to them. Here is an overview of all interactions:

• Soundproof: Pokémon with this Ability are unaffected by other Pokémon's sound-based moves.
• Throat Chop: Prevents the target from using sound-based moves for two turns.
• Liquid Voice: Converts all sound-based moves used by the Pokémon into Water-type moves.
• Punk Rock: Boosts the power of sound-based moves by 30%, and Pokémon with this Ability take half damage from incoming sound-based moves.
• Throat Spray: When the holder uses a sound-based move, the item is consumed and raises the holder's Special Attack by one stage.
• Substitute Interaction: From Generation VI onward, all sound-based moves (except Howl) bypass Substitute and affect the target directly.
